R&B Music Takes The Summer Concert Stage

R&B crooner George Benson is scheduled to appear in concert on Saturday, July 26. Benson’s show is set to begin in the Outdoor Amphitheatre at 7:00 p.m. Jazz trumpeter Chris Botti will also perform. Tickets range $42.75 to $97.75.

Super group New Edition is scheduled to take the stage on Friday, August 1 at 7:30 p.m. Bobby Brown may have left the tour, but Ronnie, Ricky, Ralph and Mike are still on tap to perform such hits as “Can You Stand the Rain,” “I’m Still In Love With You” and “If it Isn’t Love.” Tickets range $39.75 to $94.75.

Former GAP Band frontman Charlie Wilson and Brian McKnight perform live on Friday, August 29. The show is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. Wilson is known for hits with the GAP Band and has enjoyed solo success as well, with a new generation of fans. His recent hits include “There Goes My Baby,” “You Are” and “Charlie, Last Name Wilson.” He’s also scored big with collaborations with such fellow artists as Kanye West, Jay Z, Pharrell and Snoop Dogg, who gave him the nickname, “Uncle Charlie.”
 
McKnight gained fans worldwide with such hits as “Back At One,” “Love of My Life” and “Anytime.” His last studio album, “More Than Words,” was released in 2013 and featured the standout song, “Sweeter.” Other albums include “Just Me,” “Evolution of a Man” and “I Remember You.” Tickets to see Wilson and McKnight range $39.75-$89.75.

Funnyman Bill Cosby comes to Thunder Valley’s Outdoor Amphitheatre on Saturday, September 6. Cosby is to perform at 7:30 p.m. as part of his “Far From Finished” tour. Cosby’s career spans more than five decades. He’s known as the former Jello pudding pitchman and for such successful TV shows as “The Cosby Show,” “Fat Albert” and “I Spy.” Cosby has also gained fans, and critics, for his comments on the state of the Black race. Tickets to the show range $37.95-$89.75.

She’s the only woman on the bill, but Sheila E. can definitely hold her own. The multi-talented musician and band leader joins Morris Day and Time for a Big Block Party on Saturday, September 13. Also taking the stage will be Guy and Doug E. Fresh. The show is set to begin at 6:00 p.m. Tickets range $39.75-$84.75.

The grand diva herself, Diana Ross, is scheduled to perform live in concert on Saturday, September 27. Ross is internationally known for her career with the Supremes and as a solo artist. Her hits include such songs as “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,” “Touch Me In The Morning” and “Love Hangover,” and “Upside Down.” Her local show is set to begin at 8:00 p.m. Tickets range $47.75-$97.75.
